Give me a dozen healthy infants, well-formed, and my own specified world to bring them up in and I'll guarantee to take any one at random and train him to become any type of specialist I might select – doctor, lawyer, artist, merchant-chief and, yes, even beggar-man and thief, regardless of his talents, penchants, tendencies, abilities, vocations, and race of his ancestors.

I Celebrate "Your" Journey...

I can’t help but be fascinated by the new horizons that psychology has for my students, my community and the world.  It is truly a space for us all to discuss the meaning of existence.  I constantly tell my students that my real objective in teaching them about psychology is to help them become better consumers of the psychological influences that we are each bombarded with on a daily basis.  With that in mind, the concepts become so real, practical and essential for them to learn and really for each of us to learn.  We can’t make it through the day without being psychologically influenced.

The wonderful and wacky world of psychology has been so good to me.  It has given me a premise, an outlook on life, a vantage point from which to see the world, and to teach about it.  It has been such a privilege to share that perspective with the students that I have interacted with all these years.  It has been a joy to watch them grow in their awareness of what is real and what is make believe.  It has been a joy to watch them on their quest for Truth.

Whether I am discussing the history, methodology, schools of thoughts, developmental process or the psychopathology of psychology, it is all the same.  It is a discovery for so many students that never even dreamed of the concepts before.  I think I have gotten more out of watching their eyes open than they have.  It is to the eye openers, those that have stepped into a larger world that I tip my hat.  I celebrate this moment on your journey.  How amazing the learning process is.
